My
sculptural work is an attempt to create a modern reinterpretation
of all the passion contained in the stories of the sacred book
of the Popol Vuh…
Of
there the interpretation of the world and the symbolism that I
try to communicate with my works.
It is the spiritual and cultural legacy of the Mayans, which provokes
the outbreak of ideas and forms that are transmitted into each
one of my pieces.
It
is the magic of this legendary and wonderful culture, that cause
my hands to produce.
My
work is not more than the reflection of the cosmology of an ancestral
tradition bequeathed by the Mayan civilization to the Latin American
people, a potential and energy that I try (someday), to renew and
to make explodein such a way that it is all our cultural baggage,
the basic support of the education of our children, a utopia that
surely is very far from ceasing to be one…
the
origin,
the necessity to express the contradictions and, often,
dishonourables manifestations of my soul...
